New Eats

If you read my last post, you will know that I am really putting in the effort to gain some weight this year.  I don't want to call it a New Year's Resolution, because it is something I have been working on already. Plus I have never really been a fan of New Year's Resolutions. Why must we wait until the start of a new year to do something positive or change something in our lives?! Anywho...regardless of what you want to call it, I am really trying to gain some weight.  I will try not to talk numbers too much, but I have about 10-12 pounds to go.

Obviously I have been eating more in order to achieve this goal.  I am a vegetarian so that does cut out the fatty cheeseburgers, fried chicken wings, and whatever other calorie intense meats are out there! I am trying to be pretty healthy about it all, but also trying to have a little "fun"with it.  It is not very often the doctor tells you to "eat some junk food".  That being said, here are some recent eats I have been enjoying while trying to "bulk up"!

I have been putting various types of peanut butter on just about everything! Chocolate peanut butter with pretzels, white chocolate peanut butter with apples, regular peanut butter with carrots, PB2 in my oatmeal, frozen banana with peanut butter, and of course good old peanut butter sandwiches.

I have always been a fan of trying different protein bars.  Usually I would buy the ones around 200 calories to have as a snack or along with some fruit for breakfast.  Now I am sampling the biggest bars I can find! The Met-Rx ones are my favorite.

Since I don't like eating really big meals and feeling super full, I have been looking for different snack options.  Usually I would just do fruit or a small granola bar.  Recently I have been trying some things with a little more fat and calories.  I am really liking banana chips and flavored almonds (I really don't like the plain ones...boring...) They don't fill me up too much and are easy to pack on the go :)

When I am feeling really crazy and want something a little more "fun", I have been trying dark chocolate.  So many different candies come in dark chocolate now! The Hershey's candy cane bar was white chocolate but was only 25 cents at Rite Aid after Christmas.  Also, very tasty!

If you know me at all, you know my all time favorite snack is pretzels! Sourdough nuggets being my usual go-to.  I found these the other day and had to try them.  Sooo yummy! Perfect combo of salty and sweet! Will def be buying these again soon! There was also a cinnamon sugar flavor that I might have to try too.

Well, that's what I have been munching on lately.

What's your favorite snack??
