Quorn

In case you didn't know, I am a vegetarian.  Lots of reasons why, but I won't bore you with that now.  It is sometimes hard for me to get enough protein in my diet.  I eat a lot of protein bars, nuts, and protein powder, but sometimes I want some "real food".  I was browsing the aisles at the wonderful Target when I stumbled across some products by Quorn.
They looked fantastic! I was a little hesitant to buy because usually meatless products are kinda pricey.

I emailed the company and they sent me some coupons so that I could pick out a few products to try and review!
I went to the store that day!!  I picked up the Chili, Chik'n Tenders, and Chik'n Cutlets.  Quorn makes lots of other products, but these were the only ones in stock at my local grocery store.

Since it was about lunchtime when I got home, I decided on a chik'n sandwich to start the tasting.  I figured the Chik'n Cutlets would be perfect for this.
I will admit, it didn't look too appetizing yet, but I was ready to get cooking.

Now that is starting to look pretty tasty!!
I wanted to get the true taste of the cutlet, so I didn't add any spices or seasoning.  I simply browned it  in a pan with nonstick spray.

I used a nice big roll, some sweet BBQ sauce, and a slice of fat free cheese.
I bet I could have fooled my carnivore husband with this creation!

I absolutely loved the texture! A lot of meatless options tend to be rubbery but this wasn't at all.
It has been about 15 years since I had a bite of real chicken, but this seemed pretty close to the real thing! On it's own, the cutlet didn't have a ton of flavor, but with the BBQ sauce and cheese, it was a fantastic sandwich!

Paired with a side of Popchips...perfection!
Each cutlet is 80 calories 2.5F 5C 11P.  Those macros are awesome!! Enough to make a huge sandwich!

My husband and I like to eat dinner together, but it is hard to find something a carnivore and an herbivore can share.  We both enjoy salads so we decided on Chik'n Salads! He used real chicken while I tested out the Chik'n Tenders.
 Each serving is just 90 calories 2F 9C 10P.

I wanted to add a little more flavor to the chik'n this time, so I used a little Mrs. Dash.
I actually really like that these products don't have a ton of flavor, because this way I can add whatever seasonings I like!

Looks pretty awesome to me!
These cooked up so quickly!

I tossed the tenders on top of a beautiful salad!
Homegrown tomatoes, lettuce, and cucumber.  Store bought carrots and balsamic dressing...

Once again, these had a great texture! Not chewy or rubbery at all.
The little bit of seasoning I added was just enough to make this an amazing meal.

This is the best meatless product I have tried so far.  I will absolutely buy the Chik'n Tenders again.
I can't wait to try them in a stir fry! And a wrap!

Last up was the Chili.  Each box is one serving.
I was thinking these would be great to toss in my lunchbox for work.

Macros are pretty great for a big bowl of chili!
Low fat and lots of protein.

I have to warn you...I am not really a fan of chili...I usually just don't like soup, chili, or anything like that.  My husband was actually very shocked that I even got it to try.
It was super easy to make.  Microwave and done!

It had a great chili flavor.  Not too spicy which is good for me!
Lots of beans, ground "meat", and big chunks of tomato.
It was not my favorite, but if you are looking for a meatless chili, I think you would love this! Like I said, just not a huge chili fan overall.

I decided to try it with a little sprinkle of cheese.  That is how people usually eat chili right?! See...not a big chili consumer...
This was quite tasty!

I probably wouldn't buy this again, but I did enjoy this quick and easy lunch.
Ah, I was missing the cornbread!! Maybe I will try it one more time when I have some cornbread for dipping :)

Overall thoughts?! Quorn has some really amazing products!! I absolutely loved both chik'n options, and the chili was a quick and easy lunch!

The best part is that they have so many other products!! Things like spaghetti & meatless balls, turk'y, burgers, and lots of breakfast items too.

You can find their products in most grocery stores and I have seen them in Whole Foods too.  If you are vegetarian, or just looking for some healthy meal options, I highly suggest giving Quorn a try :)

Chocolate Pretzel Bites

Does it get any better than a sweet, salty, chocolatey snack?! How about a sweet, salty, chocolatey snack that also has 24 grams of protein!?
Done!

These could not be any easier to make.
You just need a Double Chocolate Chunk Quest Bar, waffle shaped pretzels, and chocolate chips.
*Experiment with all different Quest Bar flavors!*

Unwrap that tasty protein bar and microwave it for 10 seconds.
Make sure you use a microwave safe plate or a piece of parchment.  Don't use a napkin or paper towel!!

Once your bar is nice and soft, cut it up into 10 pieces.
You could make more or less bites.  I am making 10.

Place 10 waffle pretzels on a baking sheet.
No need to use any spray or parchment paper.  The pretzels won't stick.

Mold the Quest Bar pieces a bit to make them about the same size as the pretzels.  Place one piece on top of each pretzel.
Bake at 350 for 5 minutes.

Now, you could absolutely just eat them like this!! They are fantastic! The whole plate is only 260 calories!
Let's make them just a little bit better...How are we going to do that?!

With more chocolate of course!
Take whatever kind of chips you like (white, milk, dark, butterscotch, peanut butter...) and microwave them until they get all smooth and melty.  I do 10 seconds, stir, 10 seconds, stir...

Drizzle that melted chocolate all over the pretzel bites.
When I say all over, I mean ALLLL over!

 Does it get any better?!
I love that these are the perfect size to just pop in your mouth! Flavor explosion!

You could share these delectable little treats...
But the whole plate is only 360 calories so I eat all 10 myself! You are also getting 11g fat, 53g carb, and 24 g protein.

Caramel Butterscotch Blondies

Caramel, butterscotch, and white chocolate...do I need to say anything else?! Didn't think so!
Let's get baking!

You will need...
MTS Caramel Sutra whey, garbanzo/chick peas, canned pumpkin, egg substitute, vanilla, baking powder, sweetener, white chocolate chips, and butterscotch chips.
*If you don't have MTS caramel whey, you could sub any vanilla protein powder*
*Any white bean will work*

Add your beans, egg, and vanilla to a blender and puree.
If you need to, you can add a little water, milk, or more egg to get everything to blend smoothly.

Stir in everything but the chips.  Pour batter into a sprayed baking dish.  I used a 5x7 dish which gives the bars a perfect thickness.  If you use a bigger pan you will just have to adjust the baking time.  Feel free to double the recipe to make more!
Add as much white chocolate and butterscotch chips as you like!! You could even mix some in the batter.  Into the oven at 350 for 2-25 minutes.

Shh...I snuck a handful or two to snack on while the bars were baking...
Feel free to get creative! You can add dark chocolate, milk chocolate, nuts...

I love how the chips get a little melty on top!
Now, would you believe me if I told you that this whole dish is only 345 calories?!

Well you should because I never rarely tell a lie!
Yup, not only are these bars delicious and easy to make, they are also good for you!

I will easily eat all 6 bars for breakfast! The entire batch will give you 8F 38C 33P.
That means each bar is only about 58 calories! If you can stop after just one, you have some crazy good will powder!

The MTS Caramel Sutra really is perfect for this recipe!

MTS Whey

Anyone that follows my blog or YouTube channel knows that I use a lot of protein powder in my recipes! I am a vegetarian and it is sometimes difficult to make sure I have enough protein in my diet.  High protein cookies, muffins, and pancakes are the perfect way for me to meet my protein goals each day.  With all the different protein powder brand out there, you may be wondering what my favorite kind is!

I have tried a lot of different brands! Some of those include Jay Robb, Abouttime, Dymatize, FitMiss, Muscle Milk, Gold Standard, and Isopure.  They have all been good, but nothing compared to MTS!
In my opinion, MTS Nutrition has the best protein powder.  It tastes great and bakes great too!  Right now they carry five different flavors.  I hear they are coming out with two new ones very soon though! I am super excited about that!

The flavors include Chocolate, Vanilla, Cookies & Cream, Peanut Butter Fluff, and Caramel Sutra.

The Cookies & Cream is hands down the best tasting protein powder I have ever had!
Just mixed with water, this shake tastes like liquid Oreos! No joke!
One scoop has 153 calories 3.5F 6C 25P.

Peanut Butter Fluff would have to be my second favorite.  Also makes a super tasty shake! Anything peanut buttery is always a winner in my book.
One scoop is 140 calories 2F 4C 25P.  I really love how this protein has a whopping 25 grams of protein per scoop! The main reason I use protein powder is obviously for the protein so the more the merrier!

Caramel Sutra is probably tied for second, but since it is newer, I haven't been able to experiment with it quite as much.  How amazing does caramel protein sound?!
Ya, it tastes amazing too! Not too sweet, but you can defiantly taste the caramel goodness.  One scoop is 150 calories 2F 4C 25P.

You gotta love the classics.  Chocolate and Vanilla.
The Chocolate has such a great flavor.  Nice and smooth.  All of the powders dissolve great which is very important to me.  Nobody likes a clumpy lumpy shake! One scoop gives you 150 calories 4F 5C 25P.  I love how all the flavors are very low in fat and carbs.

One scoop of Vanilla has 150 calories 3.5F 5C 25P.  This might be my favorite flavor to bake with.
Not too sweet, not artificial tasting at all, and you can mix it with just about anything!! I have used it in sweet and savory dished and they have all been great!

Make your cupcakes high protein with my Vanilla Cupcake Recipe.
How amazing do those look?!

Want something else sweet? How about some Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies!
This is my all time favorite cookie recipe! Check out the recipe video! These cookies are packed with protein and I love eating the whole batch for breakfast.

Need another breakfast idea? How about some high protein Blueberry Pancakes
The vanilla whey goes great with the blueberries! So fluffy!! Check out the recipe!

I told you that you can also make savory dishes with the Vanilla whey. How about some Corn Fritters!?
Such a great way to sneak some veggies into your diet! I top these off with a little sugar free syrup and a sprinkle of salt.  Love the sweet and salty combination!

In case you were wondering, you can bake scrumptious goodies with all of the MTS flavors! What to do with the Peanut Butter Fluff...

Try my favorite pancake recipe of all time!!
Peanut Butter Pumpkin Pancakes! Another video recipe for all you YouTube fans :) Who knew peanut butter and pumpkin went together so well?!

More cookies anyone!? Ha, silly question...
Peanut Butter Marshmallow Cookies!  The best part is that these cookies are high protein and good for you! You can have all 8 cookies for only 237 calories 2F 25C 28P! Yup, cookies for breakfast again.

I love combining two of my favorite things! Quest and MTS!!
In just a few easy steps you can have yourself a healthier  Peanut Butter Blizzard!
1. Mix some vanilla ice with a scoop of Peanut Butter Fluff whey.
2. Break up a Quest Peanut Butter Cup and stir in the pieces.
3. Top with a little sugar free chocolate sauce.
More detailed instructions and macros can be found here.

I could keep going with the Peanut Butter Fluff, but let's move on to the Chocolate! Since I still have peanut butter on the brain, let's combine some Chocolate whey with some flavored peanut butter and makes some Chocolate Peanut Butter Cookies
In case you had any doubt, peanut butter and chocolate go together like peas and carrots! Only much better because peanut butter and chocolate are better than veggies... Yup, I got the recipe for you right here!
Lots of different variations with this recipe too! Try all different flavors of peanut butter and protein! Endless possibilities!

Bored with just drinking that post workout shake? How about some post workout Chocolate Peanut Butter Bark?!
So simple!
1. Mix one scoop Chocolate whey with enough water to make a pudding consistency.
2. Stir in one serving of cereal.
3. Place on parchment and freeze.
4. Eat!!

One of my favorite recipes is made with the Caramel Sutra.
All 6 bars are 345 calories 8F 38C 33P.  I am loving those macros!

Last but certainly not least, let's make something with my favorite Cookies & Cream!
Yup! More cupcakes! Does it get much better than Cookies & Cream Cupcakes!? No, no it doesn't!

I could go on, and on, and on with all the goodies I have made with these wonderful flavors of protein! You will have to check out my recipe index on my blog and my YouTube channel for more!
To sum it up, MTS Nutrition has the best tasting, mixing, and baking protein powder I have tried so far!
The macros are great and each flavor comes in a ginormous 5 pound tub! So when you buy some, you know it is going to last for quite some time.  Definitely worth the investment.

You can order all of the flavors from MTS Nutrition.  Use code KH30 and save yourself 30% What are you waiting for?!
