Kay's Naturals

I am pretty sure everyone know how much I love snacks.  I rarely even eat "real meals".  I prefer to just snack all day.  I am also a vegetarian and sometimes struggle to get enough protein in my diet.  When I came across Kay's Naturals, I was thrilled! High protein snacks!! I feel like they were made just for me!
Kay's Naturals gave me a special coupon code so I could browse their website and pick out a few goodies to try and review.  It was so hard to decide!!
As soon as I saw Mac & Cheese Puffs, I knew they were going into my cart.
I was really hoping they were going to be good because I had to get a box of 6 individual bags.
I really like how most of their products come in single serve bags.  I am definitely a lover of convenience! I always pack my lunch for work so it is great when I can just toss something in my bag.

I am loving those numbers!
I also liked how all the snacks seem so have very similar macros.

Let's get tasting!! That is the most important test for a snack after all.
At first glance, they reminded me of big Kix cereal.  They are very light and airy which is great because that means volume food!

They tasted great! Lots of cheesy flavor.
Very crunchy!  These would be a great movie snack! Not really a huge popcorn fan anyway... Two thumbs up for these guys!

I also ordered a Sweet Sampler Pack.
I got two each of the Honey Almond Cookie Bites, Almond Delight Puffs, and Cinnamon Toast Pretzel Sticks.  Notice the Gluten Free label on there?! Love that!

Up first were the Honey Almond Cookie Bites.
I took these with me when I went to visit my parents.  Bad idea...why?? Because of course my mom wanted some too! I decided to be a nice daughter and let her try some.

We both loved the smell of cinnamon as soon as I popped open the bag.
My mom referred to them as "little pillows" and loved the crunch.  I thought they had a great flavor! I could really taste the cinnamon and honey.  Perfect amount of sweetness! They were super crunchy but then kind of melted in your mouth.  We devoured the bag!

More puffs! Sweet ones this time.
I love how much you get! That whole bowl is just one serving.  These tasted a lot like the Honey Almond Cookies, which is a good thing! Light, crunchy, and sweet.  I bet these would be good as cereal.  Pour a little almond milk on top and you got yourself one tasty breakfast!

Last but not least were the Cinnamon Toast Pretzels.  I was pretty excited for these because I love pretzels and I love cinnamon.  I decided to get a little crazy and try these with some peanut butter.
What an amazing snack!

I could really taste the cinnamon and honey! These are crunchier than a normal pretzel too.
They were really good for dipping.  I bet they would be great with cream cheese too! Would absolutely buy these again!

I enjoyed another bag of the Honey Almond Cookie Bites while working on my blog.
Two of my favorite things...blogging and snacking!

These snacks will be making a frequent appearance in my work bag.
Ya never know when hunger is going to strike! Always prepared!

I highly recommend Kay's Naturals products to anyone looking for a tasty and healthy snack.
They also have cereal and snack mixes! I have seen some products in local grocery stores.  Use their store locator to see if they are sold near you.  You can always just order online.

Be sure to check out Kay's Naturals on all your favorite social media sites!

LesserEvil Review

I love going to the grocery store! If I have the time, I like browsing up and down the aisles in search of new yummy and healthy snacks. I was walking through the chip aisle not expecting to find anything that interested me. Sorry, but greasy potato chips just don't appeal to me...I came across a bag with the name LesserEvil written across the top. Ok, interested now... Took a closer look.
Those are some promising ingredients!! This seemed perfect for me! Did I buy the new snacks?? No. What I did was I contacted the company requesting some samples in exchange for a review. Ask and you shall recieve! Well, most of the time anyhow...
What a generous company! The box arrived a few days later and was huge! There are 5 full sized bags of snacks in there! I couldn't wait to get tasting!

This company sounds amazing! All their products are gluten free and certified organic. I saw a new label on their bags that I had never seen before EC Free! Empty Calorie Free! How cool is that! It means that only use the best, clean ingredients that are packed with nutrients! Lots of other chip like products claim to be healtier alternatives to regular potato chips. Be careful though!! Just because something is healthier doesn't mean it's healthy!!! LesserEvil snacks really are!

I was most excited about the Super 4 Roasted Red Pepper snacks because those were the same ones that struck my fancy in the store. I didn't even request them! They must be psychics too...woah...
How fun do those look?!? Loving these already. They look like little mac and cheese bites. Super crunchy though.
These were beyond amazing!! Anyone who know me knows that I am a big time snacker. I would rather have a big bowl of crunchy snacks rather than a "real meal" for dinner any day!
I know you shouldn't play with your food but I couldn't resist. You know your kids would love these mini telesopes :) Seriously so yummy though! The flavor is spot on! Only 110 calories for a very generous portion! 3.5F 18C 3P.  These also come in Kale & Roasted Garlic and Cheesy Nacho.

Another type of snack they have is called Chia Crisps. They reminded me of mini rice cakes or pop chips. Which I love!
Not gonna lie, I was a little nervous about these flavors. As a product reviewer I am always worried I won't like products that I try. I hate giving negative reviews on companies that are so generous...I am always honest though and went into these with an open mind!
They smelled good!! Still I was leary... I actually despise olives and feta!! Uh oh!! I decided to be bold and try those first.
Ya know what?!?! I actually really liked them!!! I don't know how to explain it but the taste was really unique and I enjoyed it!! I probably wouldn't buy a whole bag for myself just because I could taste the olive flavor, but these will not be wasted!! And if you do like olives you will LOVE these!!

Now I do really like pickles. But as a crunchy snack?! Skeptical, but open minded!
So good!!! I will share the olive and feta ones with the husband but these are mine! They were salty and crunchy and definetly had a pickly taste, but it worked so well together! You arnt't going to find these fun flavors anywhere else! Each serving is only 110 calories  3.5F 19C 4P and you get a lot! I am a volume eater for sure so these are perfection!  You can also get these in Jalapeño White Cheddar or Southern Barbeque.

Lastly I got to try some popcorn from their line of Chia Pop. They sent Aged White Cheddar and Sea Salt and Cracked Pepper.  Also available in Classic Theater Style.
Popcorn made with chia seed?! How great is that! You would never know by looking at it!
I am pretty sure everyone loves cheddar popcorn! As soon as I tore into this bag I could smell the cheesey goodness.
By far the best cheddar popcorn I have ever had! No lie! The flavor was simply perfect! I can't wait to settle in for a movie tonight with a big bowl of this! Way better than movie theater popcorn! And WAY better for you! 100 calories 4.5F 17C 3P.  Very macro friendly!! That is for 2.5 cups worth of popcorn! Calling all volume eaters :)

I ended my snack fest with a taste of the black pepper popcorn. You can literally see the specs of pepper in there!
I gotta be honest, I wasn't a huge fan of this flavor :( I simple don't like pepper. I never cook with it and don't use it on my food at all. But if you like pepper you will love this for sure! Same nutritional info as the cheddar popcorn. Love the consistency!

Who does like pepper?! My husband! As soon as he got home I shoved the bowl in his face and said "Try this now!!"
Soooo, about half the bag is gone...Ha, we finally got the watch the new season premiere of 24 and he snacked on this while we watched Jack :) So it may not have been my cup of tea, but the hubby gave it two thumbs up!!

I am so glad I discovered this company! And even more glad because they sell their snacks in regular grocery stores! If you can't find them near you just order some online.

I couldn't decide what to pack in my lunch for the next day so I gave myself two of my new delicious snacks!
Can't wait til lunchtime tomorrow!!!

Navitas Naturals Review

I love finding new and healthy snacks! I also love finding new products that I can use in my recipes :)  I am so glad I discovered Navitas Naturals! They are known as the Superfood Company and they absolutely live up to the name.  Some of the products they sell are nuts and seeds, dried fruit, acai, cacao, chia, gogi, flax, wheatgrass, pomegrante, trail mix, and a whole line of power snacks.  Honestly, I have never tried a lot of these types of foods so I was very excited when they sent me some samples to taste and review!
I knew I was going to be using the cacao powder in some of my favorite chocolatey recipes.  The dragon fruit slices sounded so fun and unique! Anything with a name like power snack was going to be perfect for me.

I was thrilled to find out that this company is family owned! My parents own and operate a cookie business so I am a huge supporter of family run companies.  Their products are all organic, nutrient rich whole foods which are minimally processed to preserve all the goodness!

I tried the citrus chia superfood snacks first! All of their products are gluten free which is always an added bonus.
One serving of these tasty treats has 120 calories 6.4F 15C 2P.  The ingredients are all natural and include things like raisins, dates, cashews, apricots, and chia.  No added sugar or artificial anything!
The texture of these is amazing!! Look at all the stuff in there! You can literally see all the seeds, nuts and fruit.  They were so soft and chewy and sweet!
I love that they are all different sizes too.  Big ones, medium sized ones, and tiny bite sized ones.  Such a great snack for on the go.  They are filling will definetly keep you going for a while.

I eat a lot of dried fruit, but I have never had anything as fun as dragon fruit slices! Each serving has 110 calories 1F 22C 2P.  Just check out that color! Gorgeous!!
These were amazing!
They were nice and chewy and super sweet. They are coated in little black seeds that give this snack a nice little crunch too.
I found out they get the fruit to make these from Thailand. How exotic!
The package suggested making a trail mix with this. Great idea!
I made myself a super tasty and nutritious little sampler platter of dragon fruit slices, almonds, and some banana chips. Yum!!  These are going to be great in my lunches.

Now for some baking! I am quite familiar with using cocoa powder, but have never actually used cacao powder...Turns out cocoa powder is usually processed, but this cacao is milled at a very low temperature to protect the nutrients and flavor :) I learned something new!
It smelled amazing!! So chocolatey!

I started out with a simple snack.  I mixed the cacao powder with some plain nonfat greek yogurt.
Sliced up some fresh strawberries for dipping and I was one happy girl!

This powder made something so simple into something so amazing!
Wow, just wow! The flavor is so much better than any other cocoa powder I have ever tried.

Since it was breakfast time, I decided pancakes were the perfect thing to make with my new ingredient.  Not just any pancakes, but my chocolate pumpkin pancakes! This recipe doesn't normally use cocoa powder but I knew it would be good to make them extra chocolatey.
These might have been the best pancakes I ever made!! The powder mixed up so easily.  The chocolate flavor combined with the pumpkin was out of this world.  I know what I am using in all of my chocolatey recipes from now on!!

I am so happy that I stumbled upon this company! There is just one problem...I don't know what to try next! Maybe the dried golden berries, or the gogi cashews...the blueberry hemp power snacks sound awesome...I am sure cacao butter and cacao nibs would be great additions to my baking pantry...

I have seen some of these products in my local grocery store, but if you can't find them, simply go online and order some! You will not be disappointed!

Mary's Gone Crackers Review

I am really enjoying doing product reviews lately! I came across a great looking snack company called Mary's Gone Crackers.  All of their products are gluten free, nut free, dairy free, vegan, certified organic, and kosher.  Sounded perfect to me!! I love finding new and healthy snacks! I read a bit about Mary, the founder, and learned that she suffers with celiac disease.  I have an aunt, a friend, and a father in law with celiac so I was excited to find some new snacks that they can enjoy too :)

I requested some samples for a review and was very excited when the package arrived!
I have done quite a few product reviews already and most companies send little single serve bags (which is fine and still wonderful!!).  Not this company!! I got 3 different products and each came in a full size package! An entire bag of chipotle tomato pretzels, a full box of original crackers, and a big box of n'oatmeal raisin cookies.  I was so happy :)

If you know me at all, you probably know that I have an extreme obsession love for pretzels! Pretzel sticks, pretzels nuggets, pretzel pieces, pretzel rods...Love! I knew I wanted to try the chipotle tomato pretzel sticks first.
I decided to pair them with one of favorite dips.  Pretzels and fat free cream cheese is so good.  I will admit, I was worried these were going to be really spicy.  I do not like spicy foods at all...

The flavor was awesome!! Not to spicy at all.  That may be bad news if you do like that kind of thing, but these were perfect for me.
These pretzels are super duper crunchy.  And there is so much nice texture to them. This was a great snack.

I really loved that all the pretzels sticks were different sizes and shapes. Some tall and skinny ones, fat and short ones, and oddly shapes ones :) It made snacking on them more fun!
Nutritional facts are great for these! One serving is 150 calories and 5g fat, 21g carb, and 4g protein.

Next I wanted to try the crackers. I just had the original ones, but they also come in hot n spicy jalapeño, super seed, onion, caraway, black pepper, and herb flavors.  Those are some fun sounding crackers!
Look at all the seeds and goodness in those crackers!!

What goes better with crackers than some different cheeses?
My husband came home while I was preparing this and just started snacking away!! I was like "Hey!! I need to take a pretty picture first! Then you can have some" He loved them! And I hate to say it, but my husband is not exactly a "healthy food" eater...I don't think he knew how healthy his little snack was!!

After he was done munching, I went in for a taste. Perfect little cracker and cheese sandwich!
These crackers are super hearty!! Not like some unnamed kinds you might normally by at the store which don't fill you up at all...This would even make a great lunch!  The flavor and texture of these crackers is unlike any other cracker I have ever tried.  So good!
Only 140 calories for 14 crackers! That's a pretty good serving if you ask me.  They also have 5g fat, 21g carb, and 3g protein.

Saved the best for last!! Cookie time! My parents own a cookie bakery so I am no stranger to these lovely baked goods.  Sorry mom and dad...but your cookies are not healthy like these ones!
I got to try the n-oatmeal raisin cookies.  If I didn't read it on the box, I would have had no clue there was no oatmeal in them! They are oat, wheat, and gluten free.  Mind blown.

I love the size of them.  Perfect little dessert.
You get two cookies for 120 calories 4g fat, 20g carb, and 1g protein. Let's just say I had a little more than one serving. No guilt here!!

These would even make a great breakfast! Heck, they are healthier than most granola bars or prepackaged oatmeal out there.  Check out those raisins!
5 or 6 of these thrown in my bag for breakfast on the go? Sounds good to me! They also come in chocolate chip, double chocolate, and ginger snap.  I must try the other flavors too!!
These were so soft and chewy.  Not what I was expecting at all.  I guess healthy foods sometimes get a bad reputation as being hard, rubbery, or just plain yucky.  Not these cookies though, so tasty!

Another great thing about these products is that a lot of them are sold at your regular grocery store! If you can't find them, you can buy some online.  I highly recommend you try some of their products soon! Chances are, you know someone who suffers from celiac disease too.  What a great gift that would make!! Thoughtful and delicious :)

I will absolutlely be buying some of the other products to try in the near future.  Those double chocolate and gingersnap cookies sound too good to miss out on!!
