Kids Books are Waaay better than Adult Books

Today was pretty much a typical day in the life of a nanny. And by typical of course I mean awesome :)

My day started by picking up one kiddo from pre-school. It is a cold and snowy day here so we decided Barnes and Noble would be a good place to spend the afternoon.

Of course we got goodies first.

That is one GIANT rice krisy treat!

I tried a new flavor of tea. Now I forget what it was called... Ha it was good! I think it was coconut vanilla ginger something? It warmed me up and tasted good so that's all that mattered.

We don't usualy buy books here. We just find a cozy spot to read some books while finishing our goodies.

Any parent, babysitter, nanny, or person with a young sibling must know about the pigeon books! They are pretty hilarious! Kids enjoy them and so do I :)

These were all great! I recommend them to anyone ages 2-30!

We also decided to take some selfies in between books.

Also a sad selfie...

A silly selfie...

And an angry selfie...

Welp, that was the excitement of the day! The rest of the day was spent eating grilled cheese and goldfish, coloring, and watching some Curious George. Overall, I would say it was a good day :)

What do you love/hate about your job??

I love that I get to do super fun things each day and basically be a kid!

I hate that I don't have any co-workers and sometimes I crave a little adult interaction! I guess co-workers can be a bad thing too... Depends on who they are!

  1. Ahhh, you make me want to be a nanny, haha! Looks like a fun and rewarding day! I love the Llama books... they rhyme, and they're so cute! I also saw a kid's book that was titled "What Does the Fox Say" after the popular song. The book was literally the lyrics of the song with pictures, haha!!

The tea you got sounds really, really delicious!

    1. Yum, that tea sounds good too! I love trying new flavors. I will have to ask for it at our next B&N trip :)

  3. I can see that I've missed a whole generation of kids' books-- reading to my children used to be one of my favorite things!

  4. One of my moms, who has more flex in her schedule than most, will sometimes join us for outings to coffee shops when she needs a break. You're right: this is an isolating profession, and so it's nice to have the company!

Last time in a coffee shop, I let the kids take pictures of me and each other. That was entertaining!
